Up and running – First April 2014 Woodworking Classes

After a year of hard work and many trips to the local dump, we removed 26 tons of stuff from the building, we finally are up and running, we have been doing private mentoring for some students and had an easy start to full time classes in December with a couple of students in for the long haul. We have a terrific bunch of great teachers with some wonderful classes – Check our 2016 woodworking workshop calendar

We are now located in Marysville CA, in a great old building built in brick around 1923. The machine room is downstairs on a wood floor, with a space for reception and a student gallery. Upstairs is a wonderfully spacious and well lit bench room with 12 benches and more space if needed, the students can hang out at a coffee bar and relax and read some woodworking books at the library area. We are looking forward to having students join us in our venture to create beautiful, functional pieces of furniture and have fun doing so in a nice friendly environment.

A couple of woodworking classes over the past few weeks, one was a demonstration on wood turning by one of our teachers, Russ McAnulty, Russ showed a bunch of folks how to turn a rolling pin from a square block of wood and then showed us how to turn a beautiful little bowl and a handy scoop, a nice easy going class and people had a fun time.

Over this weekend, Ron Anderson had a class of beginner students and went through all the techniques necessary to machine and assemble a neat little tote for carrying stuff in, it was made in cherry wood and finished in shellac, again, a fun class and people have promised to come back for more classes in woodworking.
